Production Planner

This position, reporting to the Planning Specialist, is part of the Motion business division focused on High Power products in Vadodara, India.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Master Production Schedule (MPS) and manage daily, weekly, and shop-floor operations aligned with Make to Stock forecasts and capacity constraints.
• Create and maintain detailed daily production schedules based on the production plan to optimize resource utilization and meet production targets.
• Perform daily plant-level Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) to generate and oversee production demands ensuring on-time delivery.
• Define operation sequences and lead times required to fulfill shipment deadlines according to the master plan.
• Track adherence to schedules, analyze causes of deviations, and initiate corrective measures for continuous improvement.
• Manage Material Planning and Inventory by executing MRP processes to confirm availability of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
• Maintain lean inventory practices including managing safety stock levels, minimizing obsolete stock, and optimizing working capital investment in inventory.
• Conduct periodic stock audits and reconciliations in collaboration with the Stores department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering is required.
• 5 to 6 years of core experience in Production Planning and Control (PPC), preferably within generators or motors manufacturing.

Technical Skills

• In-depth understanding of Make to Stock manufacturing processes, inventory control methods such as ABC, FIFO, VED analysis, and fundamental supply chain principles.
• Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAP PP and MM modules.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• High competence in data analysis using Advanced Excel and Power BI.

Soft Skills

• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal abilities to manage cross-functional dependencies effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for managing dynamic and evolving shop floor priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
