Job Overview
The Project Analyst role involves working directly with FEMA program leadership alongside government stakeholders, grant recipients, and partners to facilitate planning, communication, executive material preparation, and promote program goals. This role integrates strategy into actionable results while ensuring operational transparency, accountability, and effectiveness across a national FEMA grant initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities related to a major federal grant program.
- Monitor program timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and milestones to ensure achievement of objectives.
- Coordinate efforts among internal teams and federal stakeholders.
- Maintain schedules, action trackers, document repositories, and reporting tools supporting program management.
- Research, analyze data, and gather information to aid decision-making and support leadership.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, executive summaries, and status briefings for leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and performance measurement tools to provide visibility into program progress.
- Ensure punctual, accurate, and professional delivery of outputs.
- Track assigned tasks, follow up on action items, and promote accountability throughout the program.
- Respond to information requests and coordinate contributions from multiple organizations.
- Build and sustain productive relationships that promote the fulfillment of program objectives.
- Document workflows, business processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and recommend improvements in operational efficiencies, communications, and overall program performance.
- Assist with special projects, strategic initiatives, and evolving priorities as delegated.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment; 3 years acceptable with an advanced degree.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Communications, Political Science, or related field.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience managing multiple assignments and communicating effectively through writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with document filing, electronic routing, and managing file systems preferably within MS-SharePoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong project management capabilities to produce quality work within stringent deadlines.
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Background in federal grants management or Project Management Office (PMO) operations.
- Skilled in developing dashboards, performance metrics, and executive reporting tools.
- Experience in federal government and/or management consulting environments.
Work Location and Environment
This position is based onsite in Washington, DC, requiring regular in-person attendance to ensure close collaboration with federal leadership and stakeholders.
