Project Manager - Store Planning

Role overview

CHANEL is looking for a Project Manager for Store Planning in India to join the Regional Boutique Architecture team. In this position, you will help deliver architectural and design projects for Fashion and Watches & Fine Jewelry across the Indian market. The broader Swiss Markets region also covers Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Panama, and India, and is experiencing strong business growth.

You will work under the Regional Store Planning Director and handle several store planning assignments at the same time. These may include new boutique launches, renovation work, expansions, refurbishments, and maintenance-related projects. The role calls for a very organized, methodical, and analytical mindset, along with solid project management discipline and strong reporting capability.

You will also be part of CHANEL’s Global Boutique Architecture Team (B A T Community), an international network that connects regional teams through weekly interactions and periodic in-person sessions to share learning, align on global policies, and exchange best practices. This community works in close partnership with global design architect Peter Marino Architects (PMA) to maintain consistent quality and excellence across CHANEL boutiques worldwide.

Project and program delivery

• Oversee multiple interior and architectural projects at once, each with different schedules, approvals, and reporting needs.
• Independently drive clearly defined project scopes through every stage, from due diligence and design development to construction, cost control, opening activities, and post-opening support.
• Handle projects across standalone stores, mall locations, and heritage-protected properties with refined interior design requirements.
• Ensure that every project aligns with CHANEL’s global architecture standards, brand identity, sustainability goals, budgets, and deadlines.

Stakeholder and partner coordination

• Serve as a main contact for internal teams such as finance, legal, real estate, procurement, operations, and sustainability.
• Partner with the Regional Senior Store Planning Manager to coordinate work with PMA and IMAGE teams and ensure smooth information flow and quality delivery.
• Manage coordination with landlords, local authorities, consultants, contractors, and local architects under regional guidance.

Documentation, reporting, and governance

• Build and maintain well-organized project files, timelines, budgets, feasibility studies, and reporting systems.
• Deliver precise updates on project status, risks, spend, and deadlines to regional leadership.
• Support ongoing improvement of workflows, tools, and reporting practices across the regional and global architecture community.

Community involvement and collaboration

• Take an active role in the Global B A T Community and contribute to alignment and knowledge sharing across regions.
• Help maintain consistency in standards, processes, and lessons learned, especially when working with PMA.
• Prepare presentations, technical inputs, and structured materials for regional and global meetings.

Site visits and travel

• Visit project sites regularly across the market to conduct quality checks, follow construction progress, and help resolve issues on site.

Profile and experience

CHANEL is seeking someone with a master’s degree in Architecture or Design, preferably. You should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar setting such as an architectural firm or retail design agency. The role also requires the ability to manage several complex projects at the same time, along with a strong grasp of design development, construction documentation, and execution.

Experience working with international standards, brand guidelines, and external architecture partners will be valuable. You should bring strong analytical and reporting skills, and be comfortable turning complex information into clear, structured communication. A disciplined, organized, and detail-oriented working style is important, as is a proactive, solution-focused attitude and resilience in a busy environment.

You will need to communicate well and work collaboratively across cultures, functions, and geographies. A genuine interest in architecture, design quality, and high-standard delivery is essential. Fluent English is required, French is strongly preferred, and additional languages are an advantage.
