Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Projects Director to spearhead the planning, coordination, and execution of all company projects. This key leadership role ensures projects adhere to approved plans, deadlines, budgets, quality benchmarks, safety protocols, and contractual commitments. The director will supervise project teams, oversee on-site activities, and align efforts with the firm’s strategic goals and client satisfaction.
Primary Duties
- Direct all company projects ensuring alignment with approved strategies and organizational objectives.
- Assess and sanction project execution strategies, scheduling, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Guide and manage project managers, tracking their performance against established benchmarks.
- Supervise on-site developments ensuring compliance with project scope, technical demands, schedules, and standards.
- Maintain quality oversight guaranteeing all deliverables meet technical specifications, approved designs, contracts, and quality norms.
- Oversee adherence to health, safety, risk mitigation, and site operational policies.
- Track and control project budgets, expenditure, and resource use to promote cost-effective execution.
- Analyze financial and operational outcomes of projects and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Collaborate with the Fit-Out Department and other support teams to ensure timely provision of materials, workforce, and equipment.
- Build and manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
- Review and approve project progress documentation, payment certifications, and related paperwork.
- Address and mitigate operational issues and project risks with prompt decision-making to maintain business and project momentum.
- Engage in evaluating new project proposals including feasibility, execution demands, risks, and resource planning.
- Enhance project management frameworks, processes, methodologies, and governance protocols.
- Prepare and deliver regular status, risk, and progress reports to senior leadership along with recommendations.
- Ensure all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality and contractual obligations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
- At least 10 years’ experience managing and delivering construction, fit-out, or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5 years in senior leadership or supervisory roles managing project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects effectively.
- Extensive expertise in project scheduling, execution, site oversight, quality assurance, safety compliance, and contract administration.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, resources, contractors, and overall project performance.
- Excellent leadership, strategic decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Capacity to perform under pressure, prioritize workload, and ensure projects meet deadlines.
