Job Overview

The Sales Engineer role focuses on expanding business opportunities in testing, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and engineering services for substations and industrial plants. This position merges deep technical expertise with sales proficiency to create client-centered solutions aimed at reducing downtime, unexpected shutdowns, and breakdowns. Working in tandem with internal departments, the Sales Engineer promotes Alfanar Engineering Services as a reliable partner, adhering to global standards across sectors such as power, petrochemical, oil & gas, water, heavy industries, and commercial facilities within Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue business opportunities concerning substation testing, commissioning, emergency repairs, and maintenance across various industries including power, petrochemical, oil & gas, water, steel, cement, and commercial buildings.
• Advocate the company's expertise in preventing unplanned shutdowns and minimizing downtime through superior engineering support.
• Develop and nurture strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction, repeat engagements, and enduring partnerships.
• Deliver technical presentations, conduct meetings, and perform site visits to fully understand client needs and recommend customized services, such as motor rewinds and specialized electrical solutions.
• Manage documentation including pre-qualification forms, vendor registrations, and technical submissions.
• Assess and analyze RFQs, tenders, and technical specifications, coordinating with tendering, operations, and engineering to assemble competitive, compliant proposals.
• Follow up on proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure agreements that are profitable for the company.
• Maintain an updated sales pipeline, providing reliable forecasts and market insights to management.
• Contribute technical input during proposals and negotiations to ensure alignment with client requirements and project goals.
• Participate in site meetings and support project teams during implementation to bolster client trust and confidence.
• Monitor market dynamics, competitor actions, and emerging opportunities within the energy, utilities, and industrial sectors.
• Represent Alfanar at industry exhibitions, trade fairs, and networking functions to broaden business presence and promote engineering services.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3 to 8 years of experience in sales or business development, specifically within electrical engineering services and preferably in substation testing and commissioning.
• Robust understanding of electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and engineering service practices.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Strong capability in establishing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
• Self-driven with a strong commercial mindset.
• Readiness to travel extensively to various project sites and client locations.
