Senior Solutions Architect

Overview

This role involves designing and developing a foundational Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment that supports scalable SaaS products. The position requires guiding multiple engineering teams through a cohesive technical vision while ensuring best practices and standards are consistently applied.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement a reusable, cloud-native platform on GCP to accelerate the launch of SaaS offerings and prevent duplicate work across engineering squads.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to Digital Architects within various teams, aligning their architectural choices to maintain uniformity, standard tooling, and best practices.
• Engage directly in software development by building prototypes for challenging features and removing major technical obstacles, setting an example through active hands-on involvement.
• Collaborate with Cloud Security Engineers and Cloud Engineers to design secure network architectures that embrace "secure-by-design" methodologies and comply with GCP best practices from inception.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field; master’s degree in software engineering or cloud computing preferred.
• Possession of Professional Google Cloud Architect certification is highly desirable; other certifications such as Professional Google Cloud Developer are advantageous.
• 8 to 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including over 4 years focused on designing and developing cloud-native SaaS applications.
• In-depth knowledge of GCP services, microservices and serverless design patterns, Kubernetes orchestration, multi-tenant SaaS architectures, cloud networking (Virtual Private Clouds, load balancing), and foundational cybersecurity principles in cloud environments.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-team technical initiatives, mentoring senior engineers or architects, and managing the architecture lifecycle of large-scale platforms.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform technologies such as GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Spanner.
• Experience with SaaS development principles including multi-tenancy, microservice strategies, and API design.
• Proficiency in hands-on coding and prototyping using languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and security essentials.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Use of architectural design tools (e.g., draw.io), GCP CLI and Console, and modern CI/CD pipelines including GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build.
