Role Overview

The ServiceNow Developer will primarily engage in developing and supporting the core ServiceNow applications. This role requires close collaboration with global business teams and IT groups to understand business goals and align IT delivery with suitable ServiceNow platform solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global users and IT teams to support and enhance ServiceNow applications.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision as needed.
  • Participate actively in SCRUM, sprint sessions, and ad-hoc meetings, contributing across modules.
  • Support team-wide issues proactively beyond assigned tasks.
  • Manage vendor interactions for high-severity issues on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Administer the ServiceNow Vendor Portal activities including scheduling upgrades and patch management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for major incident resolutions.
  • Be available for after-hours work handling urgent issues or planned deployments such as upgrades.

Technical Competencies and Knowledge Areas

  • Solid understanding of IT Service Management processes including Incident, Change, Problem, and Catalog Item management.
  • Experience in instance upgrade testing and bug resolution.
  • Proficiency in Data Import and Transform Maps.
  • Strong scripting skills in Java, Jelly, AngularJS; familiarity with HTML and CSS is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

  • Experience with API integrations, ServiceNow Orchestration/Automation with Azure and PowerShell.
  • Handling inbound/outbound notifications, platform analytics, dashboards, database views.
  • Understanding of Discovery Jobs, Certification Inventory, IT Business Management modules (IDEA, Demand, Project, Story, SCRUM Task).
  • Experience with Custom Applications, Automated Testing Framework (ATF), Test Management versions 1.0 and 2.0.
  • ServiceNow integration with third-party tools and Mid Server management.
  • Familiarity with Knowledge Management, Service Portal Widgets, Virtual Agent/Chat Bot, and machine learning.
  • Usage of Flow Designer, Service Operation Workspace, Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, Service Bridge, SAFe module.
  • Exposure to Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI) and basics of Azure DevOps.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow version upgrades and emerging technologies like Gen/Open AI.
  • Experience with Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD) and Employee Center/Portal solutions.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • ITIL certification or strong familiarity with ITIL principles.
