Teams and Role Focus

Reddit is growing rapidly and currently recruiting across three main teams within the Ads Organization:

Ad Safety & Verification: This team ensures the ads ecosystem remains trustworthy and safe for users and advertisers, managing high-volume services and integrations with metrics and brand safety tools.
Ads Creative Management (ACM): Focused on tools that simplify ad content creation and management, integrating AI solutions for smarter advertising campaigns.
Brand Innovation: Develops cutting-edge ad formats that enhance brand visibility and engagement, supporting key advertising initiatives.

This mid-level backend engineering role involves working on various backend services and microservices that power advertising products, real-time data systems, and interactive ad features, using technologies such as Go, Python, Scala, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, and more.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product managers to design and build advertisements products.
Work closely with platform and data teams to implement new system features.
Improve operational stability by enhancing code quality and delivering monitoring dashboards.
Develop scalable and extensible components aligned with product goals.
Manage project tasks including updates, timelines, and execution oversight.

Required Qualifications

At least three years of experience developing software using languages like Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
Capability to independently lead the development of features or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within the ads technology domain.
Interest in advertising business and understanding client requirements.
