Role Summary
This position is centered on IT operations, automation, and DevOps support. The role focuses on building and improving engineering automation tools, supporting continuous delivery environments, and helping teams deliver software faster and more reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, research, and develop automation solutions for engineering tools.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation systems, with a major focus on Python-based tools.
- Create training materials and documentation and share them across the organization.
- Contribute actively to the internal DevOps community.
- Help define, refine, and roll out company processes.
- Support integration teams as a key technical contributor.
- Enable continuous delivery practices that help software teams release automotive software products and projects more quickly.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create scripts that support CI/CD execution on infrastructure.
- Build and improve development methodologies to reduce software development time and increase R&D savings.
- Develop and integrate scripts and tools that automate deployment activities.
- Investigate production problems, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues in live environments.
- Adapt to new methods introduced by the team and help improve them further.
- Write Groovy scripts for Jenkins jobs used by project teams.
- Design CI/CD workflows aligned to the CI/CD architecture.
- Strengthen validation and quality assurance tooling and processes in the continuous delivery environment.
- Make sure build jobs do not fail because of tooling or infrastructure issues.
- Track build duration regularly and recommend tuning or infrastructure changes when needed.
- Prepare reports on build infrastructure usage.
- Coordinate with the IT team to resolve hardware-related issues.
- Troubleshoot Jenkins, Artifactory, and Electric Accelerator issues.
- Standardize, develop, and deploy best practices for software development and CI/CD solutions.
- Support existing deployed solutions and keep them running effectively.
- Improve teamwork across groups and strengthen technical collaboration.
- Contribute to people management, including managing, leading, and developing team members.
Additional Information
The role also involves helping the company adopt newer DevOps trends, optimize current processes, and improve collaboration between teams through strong technical support and operational discipline.
Work Arrangement
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Coimbatore South, Tamil Nadu, India.
