Role Overview
As a Strategy Associate based at Qantas Group’s Mascot headquarters, you will be integral to formulating strategic guidance and recommendations for senior leadership including the Group Leadership Team and Board of Directors. Your work will directly influence the strategic direction of Qantas Group entities such as Qantas Airways, Jetstar Group, and Qantas Loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex analysis and develop impactful recommendations on strategic projects related to international expansion, profit optimization, capital efficiency, and technology-driven transformation including AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and manage project content creation and stakeholder engagement to aid decision-making at the executive level.
- Utilize traditional strategic frameworks alongside AI-enhanced tools to produce efficient, high-quality insights.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of three years' professional experience in top-tier strategy consulting (e.g. Bain, BCG, McKinsey, Kearney), investment banking, or in-house corporate strategy.
- Extensive problem-solving and analytical skills supported by strong communication, project management, and teamwork abilities.
- Experience across diverse industries with a preference for candidates familiar with airline, transportation, or heavy industries.
- Relevant tertiary education qualification.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experienced in leveraging AI tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to navigate stakeholder relationships and confidential business matters effectively.
- Passion for the aviation industry and enthusiasm for contributing to a collaborative, diverse team environment.
