Role Overview
Take full ownership of the user experience for specific workflows, encompassing research, wireframing, refined user interface design, and delivering developer-ready assets.
Support and expand a unified design system that includes typography, colors, spacing, and components that align with the Ikigai Motors brand identity.
Create adaptive designs optimized for both mobile-first customers and desktop-oriented staff workflows.
Translate intricate operational processes such as inquiries, listings, workshop, and finance into straightforward, low-error interfaces.
Conduct lightweight usability tests with staff members and leverage analytics and feedback to continuously improve the designs.
Develop detailed specifications, redlines, and component guidance to facilitate implementation using Next.js and Tailwind CSS, including handling edge cases and empty states.
Work collaboratively with the marketing team to design marketing pages, career sections, and promotional materials.
Ensure foundational accessibility principles are met, such as proper contrast, logical focus order, adequate touch target sizes, and easily comprehensible forms.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum two years of UI/UX design experience focused on web applications; a portfolio showcasing your work is required.
- Proficient in Figma or similar tools, skilled in creating components, variants, auto-layouts, and preparing assets for developer handoff.
- Demonstrates strong UX thinking skills that go beyond aesthetics, including designing flows, visual hierarchies, and minimizing user errors.
- Capable of designing within brand guidelines and iteratively collaborating with engineers.
- Effective written communication skills for detailed annotations and asynchronous teamwork.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in automotive, retail, or marketplace product design.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS to engage in feasibility discussions with developers.
- Ability to direct illustration or photography efforts for marketing collaborations.
- Familiarity with UX design patterns for dashboards and administrative interfaces.
