Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Position Overview

AI Republic is collaborating with a dynamic Media & Data company based in Germany seeking a Freelance AI/ML Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This contract role is fully remote but limited to candidates based in Europe, with a duration of 12 months and an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-ready AI and machine learning applications.
• Build and support scalable backend services that power AI-driven products.
• Create high-throughput, production-grade systems.
• Develop and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Design Agentic AI system architectures.
• Author and upkeep comprehensive end-to-end testing procedures.
• Collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical team members to deploy AI solutions in live environments.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven professional experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with PyTorch framework.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Competence in MLOps practices.
• Track record of deploying AI applications in real-world environments.
• Previous background in backend engineering prior to focusing on AI/ML is highly valued.
