About the Role
Together for Mental Wellbeing seeks a diligent and trustworthy cleaner to maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards in their service environment. The role requires independence and dedication, committing to 30 hours per week with a focus on maintaining the residence as a safe and hygienic space for residents and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean communal spaces including residents' lounges, dining areas, toilets, bathrooms, shower rooms, halls, stairways, landings, staff office, and residents' bedrooms as needed and permitted.
- Perform vacuuming of all carpets, sweeping and polishing floors, dusting and polishing surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect communal toilets, baths, showers, and sinks along with emptying and cleaning ashtrays.
- Wash walls and paintwork as required within these areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cleaning supplies and cupboards.
- Report any damage, breakages, hazards, or needed replacements to senior staff promptly.
- Collaborate with staff and residents to uphold the care ethos of the service.
- Undertake additional cleaning duties amid the COVID-19 pandemic, including daily disinfection of high-touch surfaces such as door handles, bannisters, communal remote controls, light switches, bathroom handles and levers, and maintain related documentation.
Essential Skills and Qualities
- Understanding of the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety, particularly heightened during the COVID-19 outbreak.
- Recognizes the residential setting as a home environment for residents rather than just a workplace.
- Preparedness to work cooperatively with residents on shared cleaning tasks where appropriate.
- Willingness to participate in training as recommended by management.
- Demonstrates sensitivity and respect towards individuals with special needs.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

Compensation
The position offers a base pay of 13.86 per hour with an additional geographic allowance amounting to 11,900 annually.
