Data Analyst, Semi Service Programs

Role overview

Tesla is hiring a Data Analyst to own reporting and data insights for the Semi program. In this role, you will turn raw data into clear, practical information that can be quickly acted on through recommendations and reporting. Your work will support internal teams and leaders by improving utilization of the Semi, strengthening team efficiency, supporting new sustainable revenue, and delivering insights for both internal and external customers.

Core responsibilities

• Create polished reports, service-center KPIs, and visualizations that help stakeholders stay aligned with Semi Service Programs goals.
• Build and support data pipelines used to clean, pull, and combine datasets for reporting, predictive analysis, and decision-making across Semi service work.
• Develop maintainable, well-tested code that can be reused and extended by other analysts, while sharing insights and supporting customer-facing materials with the service programs team.
• Serve as the bridge between technical and non-technical groups by turning complex findings into practical recommendations for managers and executives.
• Work with teams such as Business Development, Field Service, Service Quality, and Program Managers to convert business needs into dashboards, executive-level reporting, and actionable analysis.
• Perform deeper analytics such as customer-pay cost analysis, workforce planning, and product/reliability validation, including Vehicle Off Road calculations, to improve operational performance.
• Protect data quality and compliance by checking methods, following governance standards, and keeping documentation that supports auditability.
• Contribute to forecasting service demand, improving resource allocation, and identifying process improvements through predictive modeling efforts.
• Analyze time-series vehicle log data and support extraction/evaluation requests that help with trend analysis, component trials, and service-related opportunities.
• Use Git/GitHub for version control, code review, and collaborative development to improve reliability and reproducibility.

Skills and qualifications

• Strong command of Python and SQL.
• Experience building dashboards and visualizations in tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Ability to pull meaningful conclusions from large, complex datasets.
• Comfort working with time-series data, including CAN data, is preferred.
• Clear communication skills for translating technical findings to business audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational habits.
• Self-driven, quick to learn, and able to think from first principles in a changing data environment.
• Background in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation and benefits

Expected annual compensation for this role is $100,000 to $216,000, plus cash and stock awards and benefits. Actual pay may differ based on factors such as location, skills, knowledge, and experience.
