The Data and Analytics Analyst at AIA Investment Management plays a key role in developing, maintaining, and improving data analytics, reporting, and automation solutions that support the Front Office, Middle Office, and Investment Management functions. This role drives data-informed decision-making by delivering reliable analytical datasets, insightful reports, scalable data products, and process automations that increase efficiency, improve data quality, and support overall business performance.
Collaborating closely with stakeholders across business and technology teams, the analyst translates complex business needs into actionable analytic solutions. Responsibilities include supporting management reporting, investment analytics, KPI tracking, regulatory compliance reporting, and optimizing business workflows while ensuring data integrity and accessibility throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance datasets, data models, and workflows to support investment and operational reporting.
- Facilitate ingestion, integration, validation, and documentation of investment and business data, ensuring scalability, reusability, and compliance with analytical standards.
- Maintain metadata, documentation, and data lineage.
- Build analytical datasets and data products to support investment decision-making, portfolio and performance analysis across Front and Middle Office areas.
- Implement quality control mechanisms, validation checks, and reconciliation processes to guarantee data accuracy and reliability.
- Investigate data quality issues, anomalies, and exceptions, supporting documentation and report definitions.
- Design, develop, and maintain Python automation scripts to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Identify and implement workflow automation opportunities and support adoption of AI-assisted tools for improved reporting and analytics productivity.
- Develop Power BI dashboards and management reports providing accurate, timely insights.
- Deliver recurring and ad-hoc analytics, KPI reports, and build self-service analytics capabilities through curated datasets and reporting assets.
- Engage with stakeholders from Investment Management, Middle Office, Operations, Risk, ESG, and Technology to collect requirements, support testing, and facilitate solution deployment.
- Participate in project delivery, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year’s relevant experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, automation, or data analytics.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with data transformation and ETL/ELT processes, including data quality validation.
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, and analytical datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with effective stakeholder communication skills.
- Capability to translate business requirements into feasible analytics and reporting solutions.
- Experience with Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Power Automate, REST APIs, Git, cloud data platforms, or AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
- Exposure to asset management, investment operations, portfolio analytics, AUM and ESG reporting, risk analytics, or investment data management is advantageous.
