Role Overview

We seek a Data Scientist to join Deloitte’s Artificial Intelligence & Data Team. This role involves working on advanced AI solutions addressing complex business challenges across various industries. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, utilize cutting-edge AI technologies, and contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic environment fostering ongoing learning and growth.

A competitive starting annual salary of €53,000 is offered, adjustable based on experience and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Create and implement AI algorithms and solutions to solve complex business problems.
Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and integrate AI models into enterprise applications and systems.
Design and develop scalable machine learning pipelines and associated infrastructure.
Enhance AI model performance, scalability, and efficiency.
Ensure ethical and responsible AI use throughout projects.
Keep updated with recent advances in AI and machine learning, applying best practices accordingly.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on AI initiatives, manage stakeholder expectations, and foster client trust.
Mentor junior colleagues, supporting both their technical skills and broader professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills

At least a third-level qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
Proven experience deploying AI and data-driven solutions in live production environments.
Expertise in statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques.
Experience handling large datasets with distributed computing tools such as Hadoop or Spark.
Proficient programming skills in Python, R, and SQL.
Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (including OpenAI, Anthropic, LLama, Gemini) involving fine-tuning and prompt engineering.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Knowledge of data visualization tools, for example Tableau or PowerBI, is a plus.

Location and Work Model: This position is located in Dublin or Cork and offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement balancing remote and office work.
