Role Overview

Data analytics underpin TSSA’s commitment to fostering a safer Ontario. As a member of the Data Analytics team, you will create and implement advanced analytical models to influence strategic priorities, confront complex public safety challenges, and improve decision-making effectiveness. This role encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous development to empower data-driven risk management and impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Spot and leverage opportunities to apply artificial intelligence and advanced analytics for resolving organizational challenges and enhancing performance.
• Design, deploy, and refine predictive models using both structured and unstructured data to produce reliable, scalable analytical solutions.
• Enhance model accuracy and interpretability through feature engineering, validation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Provide analytical insights to guide risk-informed decision-making relevant to compliance, inspections, and regulatory functions.
• Oversee the lifecycle management of AI models, including governance, documentation, version control, and maintenance.
• Collaborate across various teams and stakeholders to ensure data accessibility and relevancy, fostering successful analytics implementation.
• Advocate for a data-focused culture by sharing analytics knowledge, participating in model reviews, and supporting advanced analytics adoption organization-wide.

Qualifications

• Academic credentials in Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related quantitative disciplines at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
• Minimum of two years of practical experience in data science, machine learning, or quantitative data analysis involving large datasets and model creation.
• Expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning methods applied to tangible business cases.
• Proficient in Python, R, SQL, and familiar with analytics platforms such as Azure or Dataiku.
• Knowledgeable in data visualization tools like Power BI and experienced with relational and non-relational database technologies.
• Capable of clearly translating complex technical data insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of data governance, compliance standards, privacy, and secure handling of data.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with autonomous working proficiency in complex situations.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is between 80,700 and 100,000 annually, with exact compensation dependent on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
