Intermediate SQL Developer - Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

Join Kiwibank's Staging Squad team based in Auckland or Wellington and play a vital role in maintaining and advancing the ETL processes essential for key reporting and business operations. As an Intermediate SQL Developer, you will focus on optimizing and evolving these data solutions, contributing significantly to the bank's transition to a modern cloud-based data platform. This is a fixed-term contract position for 18 months.

Key Responsibilities & Contributions

• Develop and continuously improve SQL-based ETL processes supporting business operations and reporting.
• Design and implement efficient, modular, and reusable SQL components by deconstructing complex monolithic processes.
• Collaborate in an Agile and DevOps environment to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
• Communicate complex technical details clearly to diverse audiences within the organization.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in SQL development.
• Proficient in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies, emphasizing declarative deployment and automated quality and security checks.
• Skilled in designing component-based systems for enhanced flexibility and reusability.
• Proven experience working within Agile and/or DevOps team settings.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience accepted.
