Jiga empowers engineers to accelerate physical product development by simplifying supply chains. We connect engineers directly to vetted manufacturers specializing in CNC, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing, managing the entire supply chain from quote to delivery. Serving clients such as NASA, Google, Tesla, and Apple, we are a small, fully-funded, cashflow-positive company.
We seek a Logistics Manager to oversee the global movement of parts, ensuring shipments from locations like Shenzhen reach destinations like Boston smoothly. This role requires a blend of operational expertise and commercial acumen, negotiating freight terms and managing trade compliance to safeguard margins while fulfilling customer expectations.

- Avoid unnecessary processes and meetings, prioritizing actionable results.
- Enjoy a friendly, collaborative environment with virtual social events and annual retreats.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage international freight operations across air, ocean, and courier services, primarily between Asia (China, Vietnam, India) and markets in Israel, the US, and EU, including defense-related lanes.
- Negotiate and book shipments with global freight providers, selecting shipment modes strategically based on timing, complexity, and stakeholder requirements.
- Handle freight cost recovery processes and dispute charges such as fuel surcharges and dimensional weight re-ratings.
- Lead customs and trade compliance initiatives, developing strategies, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting execution of filings and broker communications.
- Serve as the internal expert on complex customs matters including HTS classifications, exclusion claims, and compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate closely with Sales teams on freight-intensive deals, advising on landed costing, Incoterms, and pricing to balance competitiveness and margin protection.
- Maintain accurate logistics cost data within internal systems to ensure consistent reporting and invoicing.
- Communicate clear status updates and resolutions to customers during shipment issues.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners on shipment preparation and documentation to ensure timely dispatch.
- Oversee daily operations of the Logistics Coordinator and collaborate on resolving supply chain obstacles.
- Continuously improve supply chain systems by pushing platform adoption, resolving recurring issues with data-driven playbooks, and automating workflows after validating manual processes.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum five years of practical experience in international logistics or freight forwarding, ideally within contract manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Proven track record in rate negotiation with forwarders and couriers, including real-world examples of impactful lane decisions.
- Solid understanding of international trade documentation and compliance, including customs procedures and tariffs.
- Commercial mindset focused on landed cost, pricing, margins, and customer experience beyond just operations.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings to assess shipment packaging and freight considerations.
- Strong communicator using concise, action-oriented messaging; capable of drafting professional customer-facing updates during escalations.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced startup culture and able to manage pressure during shipment disruptions.
- Fluent English required; additional language skills in Hebrew, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or German are advantageous.
- Technologically adept and experienced with remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Notion, Loom.
Additional Valuable Experience
- Experience from a freight forwarding agency, understanding the operational perspective.
- Background in digital manufacturing marketplaces or contract manufacturing.
- Exposure to defense or aerospace sectors with knowledge of ITAR and export controls.
- Mechanical or industrial engineering education or experience.
- Experience establishing logistics functions in growing companies.
