Maintenance Controller

Job Overview

The Maintenance Controller role is a key position within the Maintenance Operations team at the SIA Engineering Division. Reporting directly to the Manager of Maintenance Operations, this role provides continuous, round-the-clock technical guidance and support to Technical Handling Agents responsible for servicing aircraft belonging to SIA and its subsidiary airlines across all line stations globally.

Primary Duties

• Continuously monitor aircraft technical conditions throughout flights to identify any defects or emerging technical issues.
• Offer expert technical advice and recommendations to flight crews mid-flight, along with hands-on support and clear instructions to Technical Handling Agents at international stations to address aircraft defects promptly during available ground time.
• Coordinate closely with Technical Handling Agents, other Engineering Departments, SIA Operations Control Centre, and relevant SIA divisions to manage flights, delay situations, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events effectively.
• Manage tracking, sourcing, and loaning of AOG and station spare parts.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all engineering-related operational matters concerning SIA's daily flights.
• Troubleshoot technical defects encountered at line stations to ensure quick resolution.
• Verify that all technical documents—both paper and digital—are current and compliant.
• Supervise planned and unplanned maintenance work on night-stopped or stayover aircraft.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing all technical delays and on-ground aircraft incidents.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be a Licensed Aircraft Engineer.
• Preferably possess 10 years of experience in line maintenance operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interactions across multiple user departments.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities with a capacity for independent work.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to work shifts covering 24/7 operations.
• Proficient IT skills to support operational duties.
