Maintenance Engineer

Role Overview

Based in Balclutha, this position offers an excellent chance for a skilled tradesperson to ensure the efficient operation of a busy plant. The role involves hands-on work maintaining, repairing, and operating mechanical equipment across diverse facilities, ensuring lively and varied daily tasks. There are also opportunities to develop skills in other onsite services.

Work Schedule

Engineers operate on a 4/4 roster system: four consecutive 12-hour day shifts, followed by four days off, then four 12-hour night shifts, ending with another four days off. This rotation balances both preventative and reactive maintenance responsibilities with ample rest periods.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will hold solid trade qualifications and possess a practical approach to problem-solving to keep operations running smoothly. Prior experience in food processing or industrial engineering is preferred, along with strong teamwork abilities and a committed attitude.

Skills and Attributes Required

• Relevant trade certification
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and industrial maintenance; experience in FMCG industries is beneficial
• Effective practical problem-solving skills and sound judgement during high-pressure situations
• Self-driven with capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy plant environment
