Manager - Sourcing

Role overview

In this position, you will lead sourcing efforts by identifying, researching, comparing, and assessing the most cost-effective suppliers of goods and services. A key part of the role is negotiating favorable pricing and total cost of ownership (TCO) with approved vendors while collaborating across functions to drive sourcing priorities.

What you will do

• Own sourcing activities end-to-end, from early planning through supplier outreach, evaluation, and final selection.
• Maintain strong cost performance and service quality across assigned categories by using internal and external resources to align business priorities.
• Create and apply practical buying strategies and processes that support both routine and strategic purchases while keeping supply availability and total ownership cost in mind.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives and take accountability for savings targets.
• Support internal stakeholders by building and managing relationships with major suppliers and industry analysts to gather market insight, understand differentiators, technology direction, and business models, and identify ways to improve product quality and pricing.
• Develop effective working relationships with business leaders, teams, and functions across the organization.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams involved in sourcing work, ensuring transparency and alignment for all stakeholders.
• Define, monitor, and report category metrics such as cost savings, cost avoidance, quality, reliability, and working-capital efficiency.

Qualification requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related business discipline is mandatory.
• A master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related business discipline is mandatory.
• At least 6 years of experience applying category management and strategic sourcing methods to improve cost, quality, and service levels for direct and indirect materials and services.
• At least 5 years of experience leading medium-to-large global IT initiatives with meaningful transformation and financial impact.
• At least 6 years of experience working with business operations and functional teams.
• Preferred: 6 years of experience leading a strategic sourcing function transformation, including strategy, operating model, processes, and technology.
• Preferred: 5 years of exposure to ERP systems.
• Preferred: 5 years of practical knowledge of Procure-to-Pay processes.
• Experience negotiating contracts and understanding key contract language is required.
• Experience using online sourcing platforms is required.
• Strong financial capability, including the ability to build complex financial models and total cost of ownership analyses, is required.
• A practical, business-focused, results-driven mindset with strong teamwork skills is required.
• Ability to influence people and teams whether or not you have direct reporting authority is required.
• Strong communication, leadership, and presentation abilities are required.
