The office is currently in Markham, Ontario, and is planned to move to North York toward the end of 2026.

Role overview

The Meter Data Analyst will be responsible for preparing metering data for billing in a timely manner and in line with established procedures, guidelines, and applicable provincial electricity programs and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Handle metering data processing and carry out validation, estimation, and editing activities.
• Examine exception reports from different meter data management platforms and take the required steps to resolve issues.
• Spot abnormalities or faults in meter data systems and support their resolution.
• Help maintain and improve procedures, systems, standards, and workflows within the Meter Data Management function.
• Configure and set up new metering devices in the meter data management system.
• Support investigations tied to customer questions or complaints related to meter data management.
• Review and audit data, then work through problems with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Administer the meter data collection process across multiple AMR devices and meter technologies.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education from an accredited college or university, or relevant prior experience, preferably in utility metering or billing.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to collaborate well and build effective relationships across teams.
• Self-driven, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a complex, fast-changing environment.
• Capability to assess and combine information for decision-making, work independently, and solve problems.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate with internal support teams and external vendors or contractors to ensure meter data availability.
