About the Role
We are looking for a Packaging Operator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Tipperary, Ireland. This position is crucial in our regulated, fast-paced packaging environment where maintaining high-quality standards is essential. You will be responsible for operating packaging equipment, ensuring products meet quality and safety protocols, and supporting packaging operations within a regulated industry context.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to all workplace safety and environmental policies.
- Promptly report any safety, quality, equipment, or material concerns to supervisors.
- Operate and supervise packaging machinery to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Prepare packaging lines including setup, line clearance, and changeovers.
- Verify the accuracy and availability of all packaging materials such as labels, cartons, and inserts.
- Inspect packaged products to ensure they conform to quality and regulatory standards.
- Complete production documentation accurately and in real time.
- Maintain comprehensive production records including downtime, output, and recorded deviations.
- Assist with new product launches and packaging trials as necessary.
- Communicate and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to resolve any operational issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area using a 'clean as you go' approach.
- Participate in routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Contribute to meeting daily and weekly packaging production goals.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to overcome packaging challenges.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and 5S methodologies.
- Complete all required training courses and remain compliant with training standards.
- Support investigations and implement corrective actions for deviations or non-conformances.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working in manufacturing or packaging settings, ideally within regulated sectors like pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to following procedures precisely.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is advantageous.
- Effective communication abilities and teamwork orientation.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, goal-driven environment.
- Willingness to work alternating shifts as required.
