Physical Security Assessment Specialist

About the Role

Micron Technology, a global leader in memory and storage innovation, is seeking a Physical Security Assessment Specialist to lead security evaluations in semiconductor manufacturing locations across the Asia-Pacific region. This role is pivotal in enhancing the security framework that protects critical manufacturing operations, assets, and intellectual property, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and corporate standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and perform in-depth physical security assessments at semiconductor fabrication facilities.
• Evaluate security measures such as perimeter defenses, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and emergency protocols.
• Identify potential security risks affecting personnel, operational continuity, or intellectual property and propose practical mitigation actions.
• Develop detailed security assessment reports and collaborate with site management to execute corrective strategies.
• Ensure continuous alignment with corporate security policies, customer demands and updated best practices.
• Review security considerations in new building designs, expansions, and operational changes.
• Research and recommend security technologies to strengthen protection of facilities and critical assets.
• Support security appraisals of suppliers and contractors linked to manufacturing risks.
• Contribute to the refinement of security policies and assessment techniques.
• Keep leadership informed on security risks, mitigation progress, and program status.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of semiconductor industry security trends and threat intelligence.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Risk Management, or relevant fields.
• At least 8 years' experience in physical security within semiconductor manufacturing or critical infrastructure sectors.
• Extensive expertise (minimum 5 years) conducting physical security evaluations in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Proven skills in managing access control, intrusion detection, CCTV systems, and security monitoring technologies.
• Solid understanding of semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, assembly lines, and protecting high-value assets.
• Experience with intellectual property protection, security assessments of suppliers/contractors, and security program management.
• Capability to travel internationally within APAC up to 50% of the time.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence applications in security is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to independently handle complex projects and produce comprehensive, high-quality reports.
