Procurement Manager

Role Overview

The Procurement Manager at HealthVerity plays a pivotal role in acquiring goods and services efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies. This is a highly hands-on position requiring active involvement in daily sourcing, negotiation, and vendor oversight. The ideal candidate thrives on execution and is deeply engaged in operational details rather than distant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle for key categories, managing sourcing activities, conducting RFPs, negotiating terms, and executing contracts personally.
• Lead vendor negotiations on pricing, contract terms, and service levels especially for high-value or complex deals without delegating.
• Manage vendor relationships on a daily basis, including promptly resolving any issues as they arise.
• Process purchase orders and requisitions directly when necessary, such as during peak periods or team support scenarios.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, IT, and other departments to address procurement-related inquiries and facilitate smooth purchasing processes.
• Monitor vendor compliance and performance vigilantly, addressing problems proactively before escalation.
• Engage flexibly in ad hoc projects and problem-solving tasks aligned with shifting priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum five years of procurement experience emphasizing hands-on operational execution rather than purely strategic oversight.
• Proven expertise in vendor negotiation with successful track records in securing advantageous agreements.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to diverse tasks ranging from high-level strategy to manual entry.
• Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems such as Olive, Tropic, or NetSuite.
• Strong analytical capabilities enabling independent development of spend analyses.
• Exceptional communication skills to build trust and effective relationships across multiple departments.

Compensation and Work Location

The salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 per year, with an additional opportunity to earn bonuses. The company operates primarily out of its Philadelphia office with a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence three days weekly for local employees. Remote work is supported for hires in select hub cities and approved states, including Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta, and Chicago, as well as states like CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, and VA.
