Overview
Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA offers a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Strategy Planner based in Kennesaw, GA. This position focuses on aiding the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies for procurement across suppliers, aimed at cost reduction and optimizing purchasing across subsidiary operations. Collaboration with internal teams and suppliers is key to enhance quality, delivery efficiency, and cost effectiveness to ensure customers experience lasting moments on the water.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and managing both global and domestic procurement strategy packages, emphasizing long-term cost savings, supplier streamlining, and adherence to compliance goals for Yamaha Motor USA and its subsidiaries.
- Support short-term supplier cost reduction initiatives and resource management, facilitating clear communication with relevant departments.
- Compile, examine, and report procurement data for management reviews and monthly reports.
- Support supplier contracting processes by collaborating closely with CSU and subsidiaries to resolve any inconsistencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts relating to Procurement Function Evaluation (PFE), supplier development, and other procurement activities as needed.
- Maintain tracking systems for current and potential suppliers, handling documentation, compliance, expenditure, commodity oversight, performance reporting, and strategy scoring.
- Participate in planning and executing the annual Marine Procurement Meeting and facilitate communication across internal teams, subsidiaries, suppliers, and lodging services.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned, continuously seeking professional growth.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
- Certification as a Procurement Professional (CPP) is favorable.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within supply chain, procurement, or quality assurance roles.
- Experience in the boating or automotive sector is advantageous.
- Proficient technical capabilities in Excel, SAP, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in cross-functional teamwork.
- Competent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Basic understanding of logistics aspects such as freight, transportation, and expediting is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally.
