Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Product Development Assistant to join our apparel and accessories team in New York City. This role provides a collaborative and dynamic environment where you'll engage with team members and graphic designers, overseeing the product journey from initial design through development and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay updated on trends and actively monitor social media platforms.
• Coordinate sample management: track, prepare, organize, and file samples to ensure deadlines are met and resolve any issues causing delays.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to help conceptualize product ideas focusing on color, materials, and silhouettes.
• Maintain daily communication with overseas factories and vendors regarding development progress and costing to meet line plan targets and adhere to Time & Action schedules.
• Develop detailed technical packs for production.
• Conduct comprehensive retail competitive shop reports by researching market and competitor offerings to evaluate trends, pricing, and design innovations.
• Attend strategic meetings with design, development, and sales teams.
• Manage and merchandise the showroom, ensuring inventory is current and well organized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising or a closely related field is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of CAD and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is advantageous.
• High energy and passion for the fashion industry.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, adapt flexibly, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced work setting.

Salary & Equal Opportunity
