Security Guard

About the Role

The Security Guard will ensure the safety of staff, visitors, property, and assets by maintaining a secure environment. Key duties include monitoring premises, controlling access, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and adhering to security protocols and regulations. Professionalism, vigilance, excellent communication, and situational awareness are essential attributes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine patrols to identify and prevent security risks, hazards, and unauthorized activities.
• Oversee the safety of employees, guests, contractors, and assets within assigned premises.
• Implement and enforce site-specific security policies and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain a conspicuous security presence to deter criminal behavior and promote safety.
• Promptly report incidents, accidents, damages, or suspicious activities to supervisors.
• Manage access control by verifying identification and credentials for visitors and personnel.
• Register visitors, contractors, and vendors in compliance with site protocols.
• Conduct checks of vehicles and individuals as applicable.
• Operate CCTV, alarm systems, and other security equipment; identify and escalate issues.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of security observations, reports, and patrol activities.
• Assist in maintaining evidence and documenting incidents as required.
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical situations, security threats, and evacuations.
• Follow established emergency procedures and coordinate with relevant authorities when needed.
• Support crowd control and evacuation efforts during critical situations.
• Deliver courteous customer service by assisting and informing employees and visitors.
• Handle minor disputes professionally and direct concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare comprehensive daily reports, incident logs, and shift handovers accurately and timely.
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, client requirements, and health and safety regulations.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions and participate in training, drills, and emergency preparedness exercises.

Preferred Certifications

• Valid SIRA Security Guard License (Dubai).
• Valid PSBD Security Guard License (Abu Dhabi) for operations in Abu Dhabi.
• First Aid and CPR certifications are advantageous.
• Fire safety and emergency response training preferred.
• Basic security operations training beneficial.

Qualifications & Competencies

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Possession of valid security licenses such as SIRA, PSBD, or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in security roles is advantageous.
• Physical fitness suitable for shift work and patrol duties.
• Proficiency in English communication; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Strong observational, problem-solving, and incident reporting capabilities.
• Professional demeanor, customer-oriented, and discreet with confidential information.
• Ability to remain composed and effective during emergencies.
