About the Role and Company
Airswift is a global manpower provider specializing in the Energy, Infrastructure, and IT sectors, with operations spanning over 70 countries. We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client for a contract position based in Qatar for a Shutdown Execution & SIMOPS Specialist. This role requires immediate availability, ideally within a one-month notice period.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, review, and synchronize comprehensive shutdown execution plans and schedules.
- Guarantee that all shutdown tasks are sequenced appropriately and aligned with project timelines and stakeholder expectations.
- Lead shutdown operations ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion within the set schedule.
- Oversee management of SIMOPS activities to maintain safe concurrent operations.
- Recognize SIMOPS-related hazards and develop mitigation measures in collaboration with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) teams.
- Conduct SIMOPS meetings to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Serve as the central coordinator between operations, maintenance, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth communication and cooperation during shutdowns.
- Administer Permit to Work systems during shutdowns, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, isolation procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prioritize critical shutdown tasks based on operational imperatives and risk evaluation to reduce downtime and disruptions.
- Manage resources, including manpower, materials, equipment, and logistics, to support shutdown efforts effectively.
- Monitor progress against shutdown schedules and key performance indicators (KPIs), compiling and presenting detailed progress, risk, and mitigation reports on a daily and weekly basis.
- Facilitate safe plant start-up post-shutdown, ensuring proper system handover, documentation completion, and punch list resolution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE / BTech - Mechanical is mandatory).
- Between 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in shutdown planning and execution, with strong SIMOPS coordination experience in live operational environments.
- Experience in brownfield or operational facilities, ideally within Qatar or the broader GCC region.
- Experience working on large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects or engagements with significant operators is highly advantageous.
