Role Overview

As part of Twitch’s Memberships team within the Commerce Engineering division, you'll contribute to building captivating experiences that enable creators to monetize their passion. This team develops features like channel subscriptions, gifting, and Turbo to foster continuous support.

You'll join a highly collaborative group focused on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable systems serving millions of concurrent users, always striving to enhance the user experience.

The Memberships team operates from San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build interactive features that delight both viewers and content creators.
• Develop and maintain resilient, scalable applications supporting millions of users simultaneously.
• Engage in operational excellence efforts to support and sustain live services.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to develop innovative products and solutions.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of professional software development experience, with an emphasis on scalable system architecture.
• Strong skills in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with expertise in distributed system technologies.
• Proven experience delivering user-centric product features.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, focusing on algorithms, data structures, and distributed designs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with Twitch's technology stack, including Golang and TypeScript/React.
• Experience in mobile application development, whether native or hybrid.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services such as ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions.
• A passion for gaming, live streaming, or engagement with the Twitch platform.

Compensation Details

Base annual salary ranges from $127,100 to $185,000 for San Francisco, CA, and $110,500 to $160,000 for Seattle, WA. Compensation packages include sign-on bonuses and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The final offer is determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits cover health insurance, flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement, mental health support, paid time off, and parental leave.
