Software Engineer - Microsoft Fabric Core Platform

The Microsoft Fabric platform within Azure Data offers a unified stack for managing complex data environments, encompassing governance, architecture, and business models under one umbrella. Our Core Platform team, situated in IDC Bangalore, develops the essential compute infrastructure that supports all Microsoft Fabric workloads with global scale, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend platform services like Service Fabric, capacity management, and routing that underpin Microsoft Fabric.
• Ensure deployment reliability and operational excellence across multiple Azure regions worldwide.
• Enhance platform robustness through testing, telemetry analysis, and managing incident responses effectively.
• Collaborate closely with workload teams and partners to build scalable and secure platform capabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and consistently contribute to service health improvements.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or demonstrate equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Ability to comply with Microsoft’s rigorous security screening processes including recurring Cloud background checks.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Practical experience using C#/.NET and Azure cloud services.
• Background with distributed systems, microservices architecture, or large-scale backend services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (like Azure DevOps), Kusto Query Language, infrastructure-as-code tools, or container technologies.
