Software Engineer (Open Source Contributor)

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to contribute remotely on a contract basis to open-source projects. This role offers flexible weekly hours and a competitive hourly rate for delivering high-quality code and collaborating in a dynamic community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver production-ready code, perform thorough code reviews, and maintain documentation within open-source repositories.
• Design, implement, and enhance complex algorithms and core system components to improve functionality and efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues including bugs and performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal software operation.
• Work collaboratively with other contributors and stakeholders to meet project objectives and timelines.
• Create and update detailed technical documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and project continuity.
• Engage in code discussions, providing constructive and helpful feedback to peers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven strong experience in contributing to open-source software projects with verifiable public contributions through platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Python, Java, GoLang, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Experience in managing and contributing to large-scale, distributed codebases is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with modern artificial intelligence or machine learning technologies is considered an advantage.

Compensation and Commitment

• Hourly remuneration ranges from $50 to $100.
• Weekly commitment is flexible between 10 to 40 hours.
