Software Tester

Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and quality-focused Software Tester to join our fully remote team. The successful candidate will be tasked with evaluating software applications, spotting flaws, and making sure the products fulfill functional, performance, and quality expectations prior to launch. This role demands close coordination with developers, product managers, and QA teams to ensure delivery of dependable and user-friendly software.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and update both manual and automated tests based on business and technical specifications
• Conduct various testing types including functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and smoke testing
• Detect, record, and monitor software bugs using bug tracking systems
• Work with developers and product teams to replicate, diagnose, and fix detected issues
• Verify bug corrections and perform regression tests ahead of software releases
• Engage in requirement assessments providing feedback to enhance product quality
• Draft and maintain test plans, scripts, and QA documentation
• Assist with continuous integration and continuous testing workflows
• Guarantee that software satisfies quality criteria, performance standards, and user needs
• Suggest improvements to testing methods, tools, and quality assurance procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a comparable discipline
• Between 2 to 5 years of practical experience in software testing or QA roles
• Comprehensive understanding of SDLC and STLC processes
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking software like Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla
• Knowledge of manual testing methodologies and automation instruments such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium
• Familiarity with SQL for database validations and API testing using tools like Postman
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and record-keeping capabilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setup

Preferred Experience

• Programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript to support automation tasks
• Experience with performance testing utilities such as JMeter or LoadRunner
• Background testing web, mobile, or SaaS platforms
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• Certifications, including ISTQB, are advantageous
