Role Overview
The Store Keeper will be responsible for handling material storage and issuance at Innovo MEP project site stores. The role focuses on keeping stock records accurate, maintaining orderly storage, and ensuring materials and equipment are stored safely.
Key Accountabilities
- Stock handling: Accept incoming materials and equipment, inspect them on receipt, and place them into the site store. Release materials to site teams only when there is an approved requisition, and keep stock records up to date.
- Inventory control: Perform regular stock checks, match physical counts with ERP data, and flag any shortages, damage, or stock mismatches to the Material Controller.
- Store organisation: Keep the storage area tidy, safe, and aligned with HSE standards. Ensure items are clearly labelled and arranged with bin and location codes so they can be found quickly.
- Material handling: Oversee the safe unloading, loading, and movement of materials and equipment within the site. Follow the manufacturer’s storage and handling instructions for sensitive items.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain GRNs, delivery notes, and material issue vouchers, and share periodic stock position reports with the Material Controller and Procurement team.
- Improvement and innovation: Recommend and adopt practical tools, systems, and methods that improve efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness without reducing quality.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
This position requires a diploma or secondary education, along with 3 to 5 years of storekeeping experience in a construction environment. The candidate should be comfortable working with MEP materials, tools, consumables, and equipment storage needs. Experience with ERP or material management systems is important, as is the ability to keep precise stock records.
Strong organisation, documentation, numeracy, and reporting abilities are essential. The role also calls for awareness of HSE expectations related to storage, housekeeping, manual handling, and material segregation. Good coordination skills are needed when dealing with suppliers, delivery drivers, procurement staff, and site teams.
