Role Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join the infrastructure engineering team based in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of high-performance Linux servers operating across global data centers and corporate offices. These systems are highly automated and finely tuned to support a sophisticated global trading platform.

This role requires a hands-on engineer passionate about resolving complex infrastructure challenges, optimizing system performance, and collaborating closely with engineers across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, analyse, and resolve intricate issues in Linux-based servers.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain packages, batch scripts, and automations within OS environments.
• Spot opportunities to enhance infrastructure efficiency, reduce latency, and optimize performance.
• Oversee infrastructure configuration management, changes, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to devise technical solutions.
• Participate in long-term infrastructure strategy formulation and capacity planning.
• Ensure ongoing reliability and optimal performance of production infrastructure.
• Balance daily production support duties with longer-term infrastructure projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
• Knowledge and practice of Linux kernel tuning methods.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and network topology.
• Proficient with scripting languages, especially Python.
• Hands-on experience with Kickstart, Ansible, and Git.
• Familiarity with BIOS configuration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-driven, proactive, and well-organized with an ability to thrive amidst shifting priorities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects while supporting production environments and liaising with various teams and vendors.

Additional Desirable Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of HTCondor or HTC computing clusters.
• Familiarity with TeamCity CI/CD tool.
• Experience with Keycloak identity and access management.
• Exposure to Atlassian suite tools.
