About Meter and the Role
Meter aims to transform internet infrastructure into a utility by offering a product that meets the needs of Customers, ISPs, Partners, and Technicians. Central to this goal is installation, where the Technician Operations team acts as the essential support system that guarantees timely, quality, and seamless deployment for all stakeholders involved.
Role Responsibilities
- Take charge as the technical lead during active installation sessions, coordinating pre-install preparation calls and managing issue escalation effectively.
- Provide immediate troubleshooting assistance to resolve complex installation challenges such as network circuit activations, VLAN configurations, DHCP settings, firewall failovers, and hardware connectivity problems.
- Authorize final network sign-off by verifying all hardware status, software versions, quality checks, and completing deployment validations before activation.
- Maintain consistent communication and documentation throughout deployments, update project managers and stakeholders, and proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Collect technician feedback to highlight recurrent failures and collaborate with engineering teams to develop enhanced playbooks and tools.
- Contribute to building improved hardware and software solutions driven by real field insights to optimize installation experiences.
Success Metrics
- Deliver over 90% of installations within the scheduled timeframe by providing live technician support and resolving problems promptly.
- Reduce the rate of rework to under 5% by enforcing installation quality standards and compliance checks.
- Implement automated technician tools in partnership with Operations Engineering to decrease installation validation time by approximately 30%.

Work Schedule

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranges from $100,000 to $170,000 annually.
