Chemist

Job Summary

This position is for a Chemist based in Rabigh 4, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on laboratory testing, sample analysis, and supporting plant operations through reliable chemical results while meeting quality and HSE expectations.

The Chemist will help maintain efficient plant performance and support environmental compliance through accurate analysis and timely technical input.

Responsibilities

• Collect plant samples, record them correctly, and carry out analysis according to the testing plan.
• Prepare clear and timely test reports based on laboratory findings.
• Work in line with regulatory requirements, MSDS guidance, and approved lab procedures.
• Review laboratory results and use them to help maintain the right plant operating conditions.
• Support operations teams with technical input related to process performance.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to Quality and HSE, including follow-up on corrective actions.
• Ensure laboratory instruments are calibrated according to IMS requirements.
• Keep adequate supplies of chemicals, consumables, and laboratory equipment.
• Identify chemical or analytical issues, document them, and share recommendations for resolution.
• Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and environmental rules.
• Handle, store, and use chemicals safely at all times.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives that enhance process efficiency and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
• At least 3 years of laboratory experience in a power generation or water desalination environment.
• Good knowledge of plant chemistry and environmental compliance requirements.
• Understanding of laboratory testing methods and equipment calibration.
• Ability to review data accurately and produce reports.
• Strong attention to detail and organized working style.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
