About the role
Amfileon is a team of experienced industry specialists focused on identifying and benefiting from inefficiencies in liquid capital markets. The company builds statistical models using relevant datasets and applies advanced trading technologies and algorithms in global markets. What you will do
In this position, you will help design, build, and run the data systems that support both research and live trading. The exact ownership of the role will depend on your background and strengths.
- Investigate datasets to understand their structure, quality, and underlying assumptions.
- Convert raw information into dependable, standardized formats with clear meaning and repeatable transformations.
- Work with researchers to translate data needs into structured and useful datasets.
- Create and maintain scalable ETL workflows with explicit DAG-based dependencies and reproducible runs.
- Oversee and improve data storage platforms, including analytical and transactional databases.
- Track data pipelines and systems in production, improving reliability, performance, and observability.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should bring strong analytical ability, a practical understanding of data engineering, and experience with production-grade systems.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar discipline.
- Strong ability to reason through data issues, inconsistencies, and edge cases.
- Good grasp of core data engineering topics such as ETL, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience building or supporting production data systems.
- Understanding of distributed systems and the trade-offs involved in storage and processing.
- Curious, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership in complex technical environments.
