This role focuses on maintaining control over document identification, revisions, distribution, and lifecycle management for items such as design documents, RFIs, and submittals.
The position involves regular collaboration with Jacobs colleagues, clients, and outside consultants. It is suited to someone who can handle day-to-day document management tasks independently while keeping systems organized and compliant.
What you will do
- Set up, operate, and maintain document control systems for all incoming, outgoing, and archived project records.
- Check documents for accuracy, completeness, and readiness before release or filing.
- Confirm that contractual document-handling requirements are followed.
- Make sure documents are prepared to the required production standards.
- Serve as the main expert on the document control tools and processes used on the project.
- Train project participants so they can use the systems effectively in day-to-day work.
- Handle administrative duties within the document control function, including data entry, onboarding new users, and keeping internal process guides up to date.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate brings 7 or more years of document control experience in nuclear, engineering, architectural, or construction environments, with hands-on exposure to drawings, technical specifications, submittals, and RFIs. The role requires the ability to work from the office 2 to 3 days each week and to travel within the United States up to 25% of the time.
Experience using Aconex, SharePoint, industry-standard EDMS platforms, and Microsoft Office is required. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Strong communication skills and familiarity with technical terminology will be an advantage.
Benefits and rewards
Eligible employees may receive medical, dental, and vision coverage, basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the option to buy company stock at a discount. Some employees may also be eligible for deferred compensation options or the Executive Deferral Plan.
Full-time salaried/exempt employees receive unlimited U.S. personalized paid time off, 7 paid holidays, and caregiver leave. Depending on the role, additional rewards may include merit increases, discretionary performance bonuses, and stock.
Compensation
The base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Final pay depends on work location and relevant factors such as skills, experience, education, and training.
