Elixir Software Engineer

You would join a large engineering organisation of more than 350 people working across software development, infrastructure, operations, and security. The environment is driven by curiosity, experimentation, and teamwork, with a focus on building scalable solutions that influence the future of insurance.

What you will do

• Design, build, improve, and support scalable services using clean, modular, reusable code that follows established engineering standards.
• Work with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering managers to turn business needs into practical software solutions, while helping estimate effort and shape delivery timelines.
• Review code, uphold quality standards, investigate defects, resolve complex technical problems, and keep performance high.
• Keep pace with new tools and technologies, help introduce them where useful, and contribute to a learning-focused team culture.

What we are looking for

• Strong backend engineering experience, including exposure to event-driven systems, microservices, and domain-driven design.
• Clear English communication skills and the ability to work well with people from different disciplines.
• A proactive, self-driven approach with good ownership, strong analytical thinking, and a willingness to keep learning.
• Previous experience in an Agile environment.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of functional programming languages.
• Professional background with Rust and/or Elixir.
• Practical experience with test-driven development, event sourcing, and CQRS.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
