About the Opportunity

Unity’s Gamer AI group builds prediction models for conversion rates and market pricing that help drive ad ranking and recommendation decisions. Using large-scale datasets and contextual inputs, the team works to improve prediction quality, user engagement, conversion performance, and return on ad spend. The goal is to help advertisers reach better outcomes while creating a stronger experience for users.

This opening is for a motivated Machine Learning Engineer who will help build and maintain systems that model user behavior across applications. In this role, you will contribute to improvements in ad ranking, conversion prediction, and recommendation engines while working with experienced engineers on behavioral modeling and ad performance optimization.

What You Will Do

• Build, implement, and tune user-behavior models that affect ad ranking, bidding, and conversion results across billions of impressions.
• Track model health, surface performance drops, and help uncover data quality problems or model drift.
• Develop clean, maintainable code and take part in code reviews to strengthen engineering quality.
• Understand how the models function and explain them clearly to partners across different teams.

What We Are Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
• Solid programming ability in Python or another comparable language.
• A good grasp of machine learning basics and statistical methods.
• Interest in how ads, recommendation systems, and large-scale user behavior operate.
• A strong desire to learn quickly through repeated experimentation and real-world signal analysis.

Nice to Have

• Early experience, academic projects, or publications related to ads or recommendation systems.
• Exposure to experimentation design and A/B testing.
• Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to speed up learning and building.
