Role overview
This position at QT Technologies Ireland Limited in Cork is centered on two core responsibilities: executive protection and broader corporate security support across Europe. The role combines high-level travel security planning for senior leaders with investigations, audits, event security coordination, and emergency response support.
Executive protection duties
- Serve as an Executive Protection agent and be ready for frequent overseas travel.
- Work closely with the CEO’s assistants, executive vice presidents, corporate aviation, travel partners, local teams, and event security personnel to plan and carry out secure travel for senior executives.
- Handle detailed trip planning, ground transport scheduling, advance visits to destinations, security risk reviews, driver briefings, and coordination with U.S. diplomatic offices, local police, and foreign government protection teams.
- Support executive movement on occasion by driving executives when needed.
- Prepare written post-activity reports after assignments.
- Adapt quickly to frequent schedule changes while maintaining a professional, collaborative approach and strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Security operations across Europe
- Deliver security support for Qualcomm employees and facilities throughout Europe.
- Carry out internal investigations with HR partners across Europe, which may involve travel.
- Perform security audits and location/site surveys.
- Work with local law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Help implement the Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
- Support insider-threat related matters.
- Coordinate security arrangements for company events.
- Collaborate with the European Emergency Operations Team.
Required qualifications
- Strong analytical ability and sound judgment.
- At least 10 years of private-sector executive protection experience.
- Substantial professional travel experience across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical capability and a strong executive presence.
- Experience managing security and executive protection in complex settings such as major sporting events, diplomatic visits, business events, and conventions.
- Ability to work effectively with people in crisis or other high-pressure situations.
- Background in threat assessment and risk mitigation.
- Fluency in English plus at least one additional European language.
- Citizenship in a European Union country.
Preferred background
- Experience investigating matters such as fraud, theft, industrial espionage, or domestic violence.
- Exposure to crisis preparedness, resilience planning, or business continuity work.
- Familiarity with Technical Surveillance Counter Measures in a business environment.
- Experience delivering self-defense training.
- Professional security certifications.
- Experience creating and delivering training sessions, including tabletop exercises.
Minimum qualification pathways
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 6 years of security or related experience.
- Associate’s degree plus at least 8 years of security or related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 10 years of security or related experience.
- Advanced degrees in a relevant subject may replace up to 2 years of work experience: Master’s degree counts as 1 year and Doctorate counts as 2 years.
- Experience thresholds are indicative only; candidates with equivalent experience may still be considered if they can demonstrate the necessary competencies and ability to perform the role.
