Senior Cargo Operations Agent - Riyadh

About the role

This position is for a Senior Cargo Operations Agent based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on supporting cargo operations and customer service across both import and export activity, working closely with customers and the ground handling agent to keep station operations running effectively and to help meet cargo targets.

Key accountabilities

• Assist the direct supervisor with building day-to-day operating plans, delivering strong customer service, and helping exceed revenue goals.
• Coordinate with local ground handling agents and the head office cargo team to maintain a consistently high level of service for import and export shipments.
• Monitor ground handling routines to support smooth and efficient operational flow.
• Help import customers complete cargo clearance requirements.
• Work with head office in Doha and/or origin stations when additional support is needed.
• Carry out flight planning with a focus on using aircraft capacity efficiently and managing export and import movement control.
• Keep close coordination between space control and customers so shipments are transferred and delivered on time, receive the correct priority, and use cargo space effectively.
• Liaise with customers and cargo claims representatives at head office to resolve discrepancies and handle administrative matters related to station operations.
• Share cargo-related updates with customers and head office regarding customs, government, and health authority requirements to stay compliant and avoid penalties, destruction, or other issues.
• Ensure cargo arrival notifications are formally issued to freight forwarders, agents, and direct customers so freight does not remain with the airline for too long and warehouse space is managed properly.

Requirements

• Relevant vocational, tertiary, or trade qualification plus at least 3 years of related experience.
• Good understanding of cargo operations, including acceptance, office administration, warehouse work, ramp activity, and export/import cargo procedures.
• Cargo sales knowledge will be considered an advantage.
• Strong command of English.
