Role Overview
We seek Applied Scientists with profound expertise in engineering disciplines to advance AI-accelerated simulation technologies. This position involves partnering with industrial clients and internal research teams to create and implement AI-based Physics Models atop our existing Large Language Models (LLMs). Work areas include computational fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, semiconductor engineering, multi-physics simulation, and digital twins development.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and executing comprehensive simulation projects using domain-specific software such as OpenFOAM, ANSYS, COMSOL, and Abaqus
- Training AI models on physics simulation datasets with rigorous validation for accuracy, coverage, and compliance to industry standards
- Developing automated pipelines and tools for dataset generation, simulation workflow management, and model assessment
- Designing agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems integrating LLMs within engineering simulation processes
- Collaborating closely with research colleagues to oversee training processes and troubleshoot issues related to data or model architecture
- Leading research initiatives and maintaining client communications with engineering teams
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in English with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Holds a PhD or Master's degree in AI, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Structural Mechanics, Semiconductor Engineering, or related fields, with strong grounding in deep learning alongside engineering or physics principles
- Experienced with PyTorch or JAX frameworks for model implementation and training
- Skilled in writing clean, maintainable Python code and working within Linux/HPC setups
- Self-motivated, capable of progressing independently without detailed guidance
- Collaborative and open to learning at the nexus of simulation and machine learning
- Demonstrated successful project delivery in industrial, academic, or personal capacities
Desirable Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with simulation solvers such as OpenFOAM, ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus, or analogs
- Background in applying machine learning to simulation or surrogate modeling
- Experience automating large simulation workflows on HPC clusters
- Contributions to major open-source or commercial software projects
- Publications in recognized engineering or machine learning conferences such as NeurIPS or ICLR
- Passion for enhancing code quality, including typographic improvements, testing, and continuous integration enhancements
