About the Job Location and Employer
This position is based at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, a part of Anantara Hotels & Resorts, a global luxury brand rooted in authentic Thai hospitality. Founded in 2001, Anantara operates in some of the world's most beautiful and culturally rich destinations. Ras Al Khaimah offers a serene environment with stunning beaches, deserts, and mountains, just 45 minutes from Dubai. The resort provides overwater luxury accommodations in an eco-friendly setting.
Job Responsibilities
- Support food preparation and service by preparing mise-en-place required for various outlets.
- Follow strict food preparation and presentation standards to ensure consistently high-quality dishes, suggesting enhancements to Minor Hotels' presentation protocols when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the workspace to uphold hygienic conditions.
- Ensure food safety by complying with proper handling procedures, including correct storage, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
- Take responsibility for the care of hotel property and facilities.
- Engage in departmental training sessions aimed at enhancing skills and service quality.
- Oversee compliance with departmental cleaning schedules and checklists.
- Assist with events, banquets, and other functions as needed.
- Adhere to personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety, and health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related tasks and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Sound understanding of food preparation methods and cooking techniques.
- Capability to prepare ingredients and cook dishes following recipes and quality standards.
- Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation principles, including HACCP standards.
- Basic proficiency with knives and kitchen equipment operation.
- Knowledge of food storage practices, stock rotation, and waste management.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to work productively in a high-paced kitchen environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining food quality.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely.
- Possession of a Food Handler or Food Safety Certificate.
