Compliance Manager

Role Overview

This position is with a partner company seeking a Compliance Manager located in the United States. The role offers a chance to enhance compliance functions within a rapidly expanding healthcare organization dedicated to improving access to quality care. As a Compliance Manager, you will act as a trusted consultant, guiding internal teams through complex healthcare regulatory environments while mitigating organizational risks.

This role involves strategic planning, conducting investigations, policy formulation, delivering training, and collaborating across multiple departments. You will significantly contribute to the development of scalable compliance programs and ensure that day-to-day operational practices comply with changing regulatory requirements. The role is fully remote and requires partnership with clinical, operational, legal, and executive teams to foster continuous compliance advances.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive compliance investigations related to policy enforcement, privacy issues, healthcare laws, and suspected fraud.
• Assess and address compliance risks by examining business practices, new projects, and changes in regulations.
• Create key risk indicators and monitoring systems to evaluate compliance effectiveness and reinforce risk mitigation.
• Offer clear, actionable compliance advice to staff, clinical leadership, and executives on regulatory and industry standards.
• Collaborate internally to develop, revise, and uphold policies pertaining to compliance and operational risk.
• Engage with regulatory bodies, payor entities, and outside counsel to facilitate audits, accreditations, and compliance assessments.
• Design and deliver interactive training programs to help teams incorporate regulatory requirements into everyday work.
• Support remediation plans and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
• Manage multiple compliance-related projects while maintaining strong communication and teamwork.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare compliance, preferably in a fast-growing healthcare setting or startup.
• At least 2 years’ experience conducting, documenting, and resolving complex compliance and privacy investigations.
• Demonstrated capability managing external audits, diagnosing root causes, and leading corrective actions.
• In-depth knowledge of regulations such as HIPAA/HITECH, state Medicaid rules, OIG guidance, and corporate compliance frameworks.
• Strong risk assessment skills, ability to prioritize multiple high-stakes initiatives effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to simplify complex regulations for varied audiences.
• Proven ability to build relationships, align stakeholders, and influence operational decision-making.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally.
