Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an expert electrical engineer to lead hardware concept development for our innovative battery storage products. This role involves guiding projects from the conception phase through to implementation, with a strong emphasis on medium voltage systems. You will be an essential part of a small collaborative team, working alongside existing and new partners to drive successful project outcomes and system certifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Create novel connection and measurement concepts for industrial battery storage systems, including integration with photovoltaic (PV) systems, and specify required hardware for grid connection and data acquisition.
• Influence system architecture design by defining connection, measurement, protection concepts, operating strategies, and infrastructure integration.
• Analyze electrical engineering documentation such as site plans, network connection diagrams, and single line diagrams (SLDs); assess site feasibility and expansion potential based on customer inquiries.
• Oversee projects through execution phases, coordinate technically with network operators and partners, and manage certification as the electrical specialist.

Candidate Profile

• Qualification as a master electrician, state-certified technician, or degree holder in electrical engineering, energy technology, or industrial engineering (with specialization in electrical engineering or renewables), demonstrating above-average academic performance.
• Minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience in energy technology and grid connection, focusing on medium-voltage systems, preferably with switching authorization.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and producing technical drawings such as site plans, SLDs, and circuit diagrams using standard software tools.
• Strong passion for the energy transition, ideally with prior knowledge of battery storage, photovoltaic technology, or energy markets.
• Ability to take ownership of products and teams, maintain composure and solution orientation in complex projects, possess both technical and business interface skills, and demonstrate high dedication and motivation to influence future developments.
• Fluent in German (written and spoken) to effectively communicate complex subjects to clients and authorities.
