Engineering Team Leader

Role Overview

The Engineering Team Leader will oversee and assist the engineering team in ensuring all hotel facilities, systems, and equipment are maintained safely and efficiently, focusing on guest satisfaction. All maintenance work must comply with operational protocols, safety standards, and brand expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily engineering activities by delegating tasks and tracking team performance.
• Ensure completion of both preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel equipment, guest rooms, and public spaces.
• Respond swiftly to maintenance issues and breakdowns to reduce guest inconvenience.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to develop maintenance schedules, staff allocation, and priority setting.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and fire life safety regulations at all times.
• Monitor energy use and support efforts to enhance efficiency and cut costs.
• Keep detailed maintenance records, logs, and reporting up to date.
• Coordinate cross-departmentally to facilitate seamless hotel operations.
• Contribute to training and mentoring staff for professional growth and performance improvement.
• Supervise external contractors ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance roles.
• Previous leadership experience supervising teams is preferred.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance systems.
• Solid understanding of preventive maintenance, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
