Overview
The Executive Financial Analysis and Support Unit Supervisor will lead the financial analysis function, deliver strategic financial insights, and support high-level decision-making. This position is responsible for overseeing budgeting and financial reporting, ensuring precise financial data is provided to senior leadership, and driving enhancements in financial performance and process improvements within the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage preparation of financial analyses, forecasts, and business performance reports.
- Examine financial statements, operational metrics, and critical financial indicators.
- Assess financial risks and identify ways to boost profitability and operational efficiency.
- Perform variance analysis comparing budgets, forecasts, and actual outcomes.
- Create financial models to aid strategic business decisions.
- Offer financial guidance and analytical support to executive leadership.
- Develop executive-level dashboards, presentations, and management reports.
- Support executive committees with financial insights relevant to strategic initiatives.
- Translate detailed financial data into clear guidance for senior management.
- Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Oversee departmental budget adherence and financial plan compliance.
- Assist in long-range financial planning and allocation of resources.
- Suggest opportunities to optimize budgets.
- Establish and monitor financial key performance indicators across departments.
- Detect trends and suggest corrective steps to improve financial outcomes.
- Support business units in meeting financial goals.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal control standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Advocate for strong financial governance and best practices.
- Supervise and mentor financial analysts within the unit.
- Collaborate with Finance, Strategy, Investment, Procurement, and other teams.
- Encourage a culture focused on analytical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial analysis processes.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executives.
- Address additional duties as assigned by management.
Experience and Qualifications
- 6 to 9 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, FP&A, or financial planning roles.
- Minimum of 2 years in supervisory or team leadership positions.
- Strong preference for experience supporting executive management functions.
- Prior roles within government, semi-government, investment firms, or large corporations are advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in fields such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Master’s degree (MBA or Finance) is preferred.
- Professional credentials like CFA, CPA, CMA, or FMVA are highly valued.
